Engine Management

Since legislation was introduced in 1992 stipulating that all new vehicles must be fitted with a catalytic converter, manufacturers have continued to develop more and more complex fuel systems to meet the latest and ever more stringent emissions target levels. The courses contained within the Engine Management programme are designed to cover everything you need to know to service and diagnose these systems. As well as looking at fuel supply, emissions control, system component operation and test methods, the programme also includes ignition systems from the basic principals of spark ignition to the later distributorless systems and modern COP and DFS designs. As the demand for cleaner vehicles and greater fuel economy increases, vehicle manufacturers will continue to introduce more advanced and intelligent systems. The Autoeducation Engine Management programme is designed for those technicians who wish to keep up to speed with this development and improve their diagnostic skills.
